A confrontation at the Strathcona Park homeless camp after the arrest of a suspected killer nearby has renewed calls for urgent action to clean up the park and weed out the criminal element living among the vulnerable community.
Police announced the arrest of two men on Wednesday, a day after Usha Singh, 78, died from injuries sustained in a violent home invasion on SUnday.

Sgt. Steve Addison said Vancouver police allege Singh was badly beaten in her home near Queen Elizabeth Park about six kilometres from the homeless camp by two men who gained entry by posing as police. She was found several hours later and taken to hospital with grave injuries, but died Tuesday.
