A City Civil and Sessions Court here on Saturday granted temporary injunction restraining 67 media organisations, including print, television, digital, and social media platforms, from putting out any defamatory news or showing video footage and pictures about six Cabinet Ministers.
It also restrained the media from committing any act or intentional omission which causes character assassination of the plaintiff-Ministers on the basis of unverified material.
D.S. Vijaya Kumar, 26th Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge, passed the interim order on a suit filed jointly by A. Shivaram Hebbar, B.C. Patil, H.T. Somashekar, K. Sudhakar, K.C.Narayana Gowda, and Byrathi Basavaraj.

After being shut for over two months, Wistron unit in Karnataka’s Kolar will resume operations in the next few days, said state Large and Medium Industries Minister Jagadish Shettar.
The production unit of Apple contract manufacturer Wistron had been shut since December 12, after the 4,000 factory workers went on a rampage in the Narasapura plant in Kolar over problems related to wage payments.
Since the violent incident at their Narasapura facility in Kolar district in December last year, the company has been working hard on improving across the board to raise standards and fix the issues
Wistron Corporation, the manufacturing partner Apple Inc, will hire workers and restart operations in its Narasapura factory outside Bangalore after a violent protest shut the iPhone-manufacturing facility last December.
“A comprehensive set of corrective actions has now been completed and Wistron has restructured their recruiting team and enhanced training and support for workers,” Apple said in the statement. “Wistron remains on probation and we will monitor their progress closely.”
