Domestic Violence Suspect Holds Police At Bay

A Paso Robles man suspected of domestic violence was taken into custody earlier this week. According to a press release, Paso Robles Police officers were sent to an apartment complex on Branch Creek Monday evening after a 9-1-1 call was disconnected. When they arrived, officers heard a struggle and kicked in the door. A woman and child were able to escape. The suspect, 25-year-old Ivan Peraltabarrios barricaded himself in a bathroom. After about an hour of negotiation, he was taken into custody without further incident.

Through her teen years at Paso Robles High School and into college at UCLA, she tried countless prescriptions from dermatologists, esthetician treatments and drugstore acne products but her skin did not clear.

He’s now raising awareness about the disease in a unique way. Vance Robinson has thrown out first pitches at collegiate baseball games over the past few years, but with the pandemic limiting spectators, he’s taking to social media. May is Inclusive Body Myositis Awareness Month, and Robinson plans to wear a hat and jersey from a different collegiate baseball team from around the country every day of the month and post a video to his social media accounts. So far, he has 10 colleges on board. Robinson says helping raise money for research keeps him busy.

Paso Robles woman killed after motorcycle collision with Santa Maria driver near Buellton

A Paso Robles woman was killed Saturday after her Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a vehicle driven by a man from Santa Maria on Highway 101 north of Buellton.  Nicole Grantham, 31, died after suffering major injuries from a collision with a 2005 Volkswagen near the intersection of Highway 101 and Jonata Park Road shortly before noon, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Keith Rogers.  The collision occurred after the Volkswagen, driven by 73-year-old Leslie Leaney, crossed the southbound lanes of Highway 101 eastbound via Jonata Park Road and stopped briefly before entering the northbound lanes.  After turning left onto Highway 101 from Jonata Park Road, Leaney proceeded northbound in the left lane but crossed over into the right lane and directly into the path of Grantham s 2017 Harley-Davidson, according to Rogers.
