A man was arrested Thursday after he crashed a vehicle in a church graveyard while driving under the influence, the Graves County Sheriff s Office reported Friday.

An Illinois man was arrested at around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday following a traffic stop on Interstate 24 for several charges including gun and counterfeit money possession, according to a Christian County Sheriffâs Office report.
The report states deputies were in the mile marker 7 area of I-24 when they allegedly observed a vehicle speeding with a license plate cover obstructing the vehicleâs tag.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop and the driver could not produce a driverâs license or current insurance.
The man identified himself as Kirk D. Curtis Jr., 35, Robbins, Illinois, to deputies, the report added.
A National Crime Information Center check revealed that Curtis had an active warrant out of Wisconsin for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the report.
