Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said the Go To Travel campaign will be stopped from Dec 28 to Jan 11 due to the holidays and it will only be decided later whether to restart the programme. The sudden announcement came after the daily number of new infections in Japan crossed 3,000 cases for the first time last Saturday.
