Hill Farm rezoning set for final consideration July 12 by Hilliard City Council
Hilliard City Council on July 12 is scheduled to give final consideration to a rezoning proposal by M/I Homes to build 229 residences at Scioto Darby and Elliott roads.
The proposal for Hill Farm was rejected nearly three years ago when City Council overturned the Hilliard Planning and Zoning Commission s recommendation to approve the rezoning.
An ordinance approving the rezoning of 160 acres of the 205-acre parcel from rural residential to Hilliard Conservation District was introduced June 28, along with a separate ordinance approving a developer’s agreement for Hill Farm.
Dublin s annual summer celebration of all things Irish will look a little different this year.
The community s Dublin Irish Days will be from Aug. 4-8 in Coffman Park, downtown Dublin and Bridge Park.
The five-day event will replace the traditional three-day Dublin Irish Festival, held on the first weekend of August every year but canceled last year because of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
The city plans to resume the Dublin Irish Festival in 2022.
“Dublin Irish Days was decided on (early this year) when there were still (COVID-19) constraints to consider,” said Shirley Blaine, a public-information officer for Dublin.
Many months of advance planning are required for Dublin Irish Festival, and in this instance, for the planning of Dublin Irish Days, Blaine said.
Dublin buys 94 acres adjacent to Darree Fields Park for $8.4 million
Dublin City Council on June 28 approved an ordinance finalizing the purchase.
The land is for the future use of the city for economic development, transportation or recreational uses, said Lindsay Weisenauer, public-affairs officer for Dublin.
According to a memo to council members from City Manager Dana McDaniel, the city had engaged in discussions with Denise M. Jewett to purchase the property.
The city purchased three parcels, two of which are almost 33 acres each and immediately south of Darree Fields Park and another nearly 28-acre parcel east of Darree Fields Park and north of the other two parcels.
