Legendary singer Mary J. Blige continues to flex her talents into other spectrums with the release of her first children’s book “Mary Can!”
The book is a fun and inspirational story that teaches young readers they can be anything, and they are enough.
The premise of the book is that young Mary has been told that there are many things she can’t do. Like stay up past bedtime, or be an astronaut or become president. But what she really wants is to sing, and she isn’t about to let anyone tell her she can’t do it!
“Mary Can!” aims to be a motivating story that teaches young children that dreams come true if they believe in themselves.
Brought to life with imaginative illustrations by Ezra Jack Keats Award-winning illustrator Ashleigh Corrin, Mary Can! is perfect for go-getters who aren’t afraid to be a YES in a world full of NOs.

Check out 19-year-old Toronto-born R&B singer and songwriter Liyah Katana who just happens to be the latest singing to Def Jam Recordings in partnership with Nycesound/ARTium Records.
Her new single is called “Str8” and it channels the sultry spirit of R&B with a fresh twist courtesy of Liyah’s show-stopping vocal range and singular sonic sensibility.
In the accompanying visual, she decamps to a stylish modern lakeside retreat. With candles lit, she overlooks the water joined by a violinist as she processes the aftermath of a breakup and, ultimately, moves on with her head held high.
The song is the first offering from her upcoming debut EP “8”.
Liyah has a wide range of inspirations from Whitney Houston and Brandy to Kendrick Lamar. Her music caught the attention of Nycesound Production Founder Terry “T-Nyce” Opoku and inked a deal with the label.
In 2021, she gained traction with the “Forevaliyah” EP, piling up millions
R&B group FLO have been on fire since being introduced last year.
The London based trio, made up of Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma, and Renée Downer, have just shared the exciting new single “Fly Girl” featuring Missy Elliott.
The song pays homage to Elliott with a masterfully placed sample of her hit song “Work It”.
The group add about the song:
“‘Fly Girl’ is all about confidence, good vibes and feeling your best. It’s a lively, feel-good song that still incorporates clever lyrics and fire vocals, if we do say so ourselves. It’s quite literally a perfect fusion of old-school meets modern-day R&B, with a nod to and feature from the original fly girl Missy Elliott herself. We love it and are so happy to be putting out a song that can hopefully make whoever plays it feel confident and most importantly, FLY.”
Missy Elliott goes on to add about “Fly Girl”:
“I remember a few of their fans sent
It’s been over a year since Lady Wray (aka Nicole Wray) released her latest album “Piece Of Me”, but she continues to give us more from the project.
The veteran artist has just unveiled a remix to the title track which features legendary rapper Ghostface Killah.
Ghostface puts down a verse about a relationship that ran its course but no one is sure they did the right thing in it. In the process he takes the Leon Michels produced track and takes the already rock solid tune to another level.
In case you missed it, you can check out our interview with Lady Wray where we discussed the entire album.
