The MAX Blue Line is set to return to regular service Monday after TriMet announced their A Better Red Project will complete their extension of MAX Red Line to the Fair Complex-Hillsboro station by the end of this weekend.
The Gateway North Station will open on March 4 as TriMet finishes the second phase in its years-long A Better Red project, which officials kicked off in 2021 in an effort to improve the efficiency and reach of the MAX Red Line.
Starting Sunday, the Gateway Transit Center in Northeast Portland will be closed to MAX trains for six weeks due to the final stages of construction on TriMet's "A Better Red Project," which seeks to extend and improve the Red Line.
Crews are embarking on the final work to build a new Gateway North Station, joining two new bridges built over the freeway, a new railway track, and a multi-use bike and walking path, which is all a part of the $215 million A Better Red project.
