and promises of free beer, there was still roughly a third of eligible americans refusing to get vaccinated. and as the delta variant spread like wildfire, it was the states with the lowest vaccination ritz like alabama, wyoming, iowa, mississippi. then in late august, the pfizer vaccine got full authorization from the fda which opened the door to mandates, weekly tests soon directed by president biden to businesses with 100 or more employees. seven weeks later, the results are in. mandates work. and we ve got the data to prove it. remember how one-third of eligible u.s. military service members opted not to get the vaccine after it first became available to them? well now postman dates, 96.7% of active duty military have received at least one dose according to the pentagon. in new york city, vaccine rates among local government workers have spiked since city hall
all clear on that yet. so, last month president biden made this announcement that there is going to be a booster, and then you re seeing this kind of staggered ability to even do it when it comes to pfizer or moderna, and certainly johnson & johnson. what sort of data are we getting from pfizer and moderna? yeah, well, let me show you the pfizer data and preface by saying it is pfizer data. it is from pfizer. basically what they are showing is roughly every six weeks you re getting a drop of efficacy against any kind of symptomatic illness. so, you know, people may come in with very minor symptoms, all the way to severe symptoms. and you see this sort of this downward trajectory of the overall effectiveness. but, again, when you look at the data more carefully as we ve done, if the question is how well does this protect you against severe illness, overall it stays very stable at around 96.7%. so the good news in all this is that for people who have been
