A little girl in Boston is celebrating her birthday this year by giving back. Laila Burgess was adopted out of foster care when she was eight-months-old and she’s using her seventh birthday to collect basic necessities for other foster kids. Her mom, Coleen, says Laila was curious about what life is like for children in foster care and she told her they often arrive with nothing, just the clothes on their backs. So that gave the girl the idea to collect items to donate for foster kids in need.

Coronavirus Vaccine Eligibility Expanded In State

By WXTK News Apr 6, 2021 The number of people eligible to receive the Coronavirus vaccine is now greatly expanded in Massachusetts.  The state yesterday opened appointments for the vaccine to all people 55 and older, and those with a qualifying medical condition.  Being overweight has been added to the list of qualifying conditions, which helps to open vaccine eligibility to more than a million residents.  Other conditions on the list include diabetes and substance abuse disorders.  TOPSHOT-FRANCE-HEALTH-VIRUS  

Federal Appeals Court Denies Latest Wampanoag Casino Request

By WXTK News Apr 6, 2021 A federal appeals court has denied the latest effort from the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head in its fight to construct a casino on tribal land with no town regulatory strings attached.  A panel of judges on the U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals previously ruled the tribe must obtain building permits from the town of Aquinnah for a planned bingo hall. The tribe’s request for a review from the entire court and not just the panel, was shot down on Monday.  Photo: Getty Images North America
