BMW commenced bookings for the M340i on March 5 online and its launch will take place today. Essentially, the M340i treads the middle ground between regular BMW 3 Series variants like the 330i and the full fat yet to be launched in India BMW M3.

BMW to bring more M Performance models to India For the uninitiated, M Performance (or M-lite) vehicles sit a rung below the full-blown M models in BMW’s sporty line-up. “We’ve got two sets in our performance range. We call one as the ‘full performance range’, and the other as the ‘performance-lite range’,” said Pawah. He added, “The M Performance brand, or the ‘M-lite brand’, is within our regular range of products. We introduce the M versions within that of, let’s say, the X3 or 3 Series. You will see us doing more of that, sooner or later.” As such, the M340i sedan and X3 M40i SUV can be expected for an India launch in the coming future.

BMW India has launched the new BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine. The new car is locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai for the Indian market, the car is available in both petrol and diesel variants at all BMW India dealerships. The ‘Gran Limousine’ has a longer wheelbase compared to other variants in the BMW 3 Series family.
The new BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine provides an extra 110 millimetres of wheelbase. The exterior length of car amounts to 4,819 millimetres with a 2,961-millimetre wheelbase.
