progress in getting americans out. the estimate is 5 to 10,000 americans still in average. many in kabul. but it could be even more than that because they are not at all certain they have a firm handle on americans out in various places in the country. now another 1,000 troops laughing landed and a lot of froops the 82nd air are borne division. that elite division s command will now take control of the airport mission that the u.s. military has. 82nd airborne commander will be on the ground. he ll take control. this is something that 82nd, of course, does in combat, in war time, take control of airfields. it is basically the same task but, of course, this is an airport full of civilian, full of people fleeing for their lives. they will take control and try and keep order. right now the hope is that they can get those 5 to 7,000 people out every day. if they can establish that air
