United Way s annual meeting are virtual celebrations

Courtesy-UWBC FB page COLUMBUS, Ind. – United Way of Bartholomew County (UWBC) is holding its annual meeting differently this year by honoring the businesses, nonprofit organizations, and people who create opportunities with a series of digital celebrations planned over the next week. Bartholomew County residents are invited to watch their email and social media pages for a plethora of materials that celebrate the impact their partners had in 2020. UWBC is also saluting its 2020 award winners. The United Way of Bartholomew County kicked off the celebration Monday with a video announcing Diane and Patrick Ward and their family as the winners of the Individual Give Award. Enkei was recognized as the Corporate Give Award winner. Mary Beth Wert was named Volunteer of the Year and Jenni Carr is Advocate of the Year. The Live United Award, the highest honor given by UWBC, went to Columbus Regional Health.

Boil advisory issued for Royal View addition in Petersville

ISDH reports 762 new cases of COVID-19

A total of 691,625 cases have been reported since the beginning of March, 2020. The state did report one new death as 12,668 residents have died from COVID-19. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) reported 952 new cases of COVID-19 in its Sunday update. The state has confirmed a total of 690,910 cases of the disease since March 2020. For the first time in over a year, no new virus-related deaths were recorded on Sunday. Overall, ISDH says 12,667 Hoosiers have died from the contagion. Legal Aid Phone Clinic returns Tuesday

Columbus, IN, USA / MOJO 102.9 Apr 5, 2021 5:45 AM COLUMBUS, Ind. – Legal Aid District 11 is holding another free Legal Aid phone clinic for residents in its eight-county district this Tuesday, April 6. The district includes Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Rush, and Shelby Counties. The free clinic for low-income residents is from 3 to 5:30 p.m., however, registration is required between noon and 2 p.m. that same day by calling 812-378-0358. Individuals in Legal Aid District 11 who call the phone clinic on April 6 will receive a 10-minute consultation where lawyers will answer general questions, offer legal information, and give other limited assistance or advice.
