MANILA - The Department of Health on Monday recorded 1,534 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), pushing the nation's overall tally of confirmed infections to 3,655,709. Wednesday's record is 515 cases higher than Tuesday's 1,019, the lowest single day tally of infections this year. The latest Covid-19 bulletin indicated 55,449 active cases while total recoveries rose to 3,544,283 after 2,729 new recovered cases were recorded. Out of the active cases, 50,258 are mild, 2,811 are moderate, 652 are asymptomatic, 1,426 are severe, and 302 are critical. "Of the 1,534 reported cases today, 1,057 (69 percent) occurred within the recent 14 days - February 10 to 23, 2022," the DOH reported. The regions with the most cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 205 or 19 percent, Central Luzon with 114 or 11 percent, and Calabarzon with 113 or 11 percent. In a message to reporters, the DOH noted the intensive care unit (ICU) utilization rate nationwide is 30 percent as of February 22 which is lower than the 51 percent as of January 22. To date, 29 percent of 3,800 ICU beds, 25 percent of 20,500 isolation beds, 18 percent of 13,900 ward beds, and 16 percent of 3,000 ventilators are used by patients with Covid-19 nationwide. In the National Capital Region, 25 percent of 1,300 ICU beds, 24 percent of 4,600 isolation beds, 25 percent of 3,600 ward beds, and 17 percent of 1,000 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are in use. Out of the active cases, 119,276 are mild, 2,851 are moderate, 4,213 are asymptomatic, 1,465 are severe, and 309 are critical. MANILA - The nation's total number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases has reached 2,758,235 after 3,152 new recoveries were reported on Sunday. In its latest case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) noted that recoveries account for 97.6 percent of the total case count which has reached 2,826,410 since the start of the pandemic last year. Meanwhile, some 2,227 new infections brought the total number of active cases nationwide to 21,101. About 56.9 percent of these active cases are mild, 4.4 percent are asymptomatic, 5.5 percent are critical, 13 percent are severe, and 20.30 percent are moderate. The DOH also tallied 175 new deaths, bringing the country's Covid-19 fatalities to 47,074. According to DOH data on Nov. 19, about 2.8 percent of 39,874 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19. "About 125 duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, 107 are recoveries and 4 are deaths. Moreover, 147 cases that were previously ta
