MANILA - The country's total number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases has reached 2,773,891 after 882 new recoveries were reported on Thursday. In its latest case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) noted that recoveries account for 97.8 percent of the total case count of 2,835,996 since the start of the pandemic last year. Meanwhile, 562 new infections brought the total number of active cases nationwide to 12,169. Among active cases, 4,838 are mild, 851 are asymptomatic, 446 are critical, 2,177 are severe, and 3,857 are moderate. The death toll has reached 49,936 with 176 new deaths. "Of the 176 reported deaths, only eight occurred in December 2021.
