MANILA - The country's total number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases has reached 2,617,693 after 19,687 new recoveries were reported on Monday. In its 4 p.m. case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) said recoveries account for 96 percent of the total case count which has reached 2,727,286 since the start of the pandemic last year. Meanwhile, some 6,943 new infections brought the total number of active cases nationwide to 68,832. About 79.7 percent of these active cases are mild, 5.5 percent are asymptomatic, 1.9 percent are critical, 4.5 percent are severe, and 8.42 percent are moderate. Moreover, 86 new deaths were reported, bringing the total death toll to 40,761. According to DOH data on Oct. 16, about 13.3 percent of 54,150 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.
