Malaysian operator Maxis and Huawei announced in Thursday that they have successfully staged what they claim is the first 5G-Advanced technology trial in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
China Unicom and Huawei said that they have successfully deployed a pilot large-scale 5.5G (a.k.a. 5G-Advanced) network in parts of Beijing with downlink speeds of at least 5 Gbps.
5g Telecom: “5G Advanced and 5G RedCap will enable operators to provide services including extended coverage, increased network efficiency and device battery life to enterprise users,” the research firm said in its report.
Nokia and du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), say they have wrapped up a trial of 5G-Advanced RedCap technology over du’s commercial network in Dubai.
