(File photo) MANILA - The country's total number of active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases dropped to 9,592 after the Department of Health (DOH) logged 390 new recoveries on Monday. In its latest case bulletin, the DOH said the country's recovered cases also reached 2,777,354 or 97.9 percent of the total case count of 2,837,730 since the start of the pandemic last year. The DOH, meanwhile, tallied 263 new infections, including 177 cases tallied from Dec. 7 to Dec. 20. "The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (44 or 25 percent), Region 4-A (32 or 18 percent) and Region 9 (23 or 13 percent)," the DOH said. Among active cases, 3,569 are mild, 473 are asymptomatic, 378 are critical, 1,797 are severe, and 3,375 are moderate. The death toll has reached 50,784 with 45 new deaths.
