$4.27 a gallon. even one station in orlando, florida, it s charging $5.69 for regular. but that one you have to wonder. it is right before you kind of drop the rental car off and head to the airport. you have to wonder what s going on at that gas station. those are for people who are saying, oops! dorn, i forgot to fill up. a lot of people are wondering just how long this can continue. we are getting into the summer driving season. can rereally see this run-up going on? anything can happen because the average price of gas is just 25 cents shy of the all-time high of $4.11 hit in july of 2008. we re hearing some people say $5 a gallon is a good possibility. but an analyst who compiles this lundberg survey about gas prices is a bit more optimistic here and says that prices may actually peak before the summer driving season. in fact, they may even be peaking right now. that s because of the rise of crude oil prices.
at an average of $3.86 a gallon up only 11 cents in the past two weeks. we re close to the trigger point of $4 a gallon but stalled behind the all-time high of $4.11 a gallon in 2008. however, one gas station in orlando, decided recently t to far far eclipse the all-time high on friday, sun coast energy near the orlando airport, was charging $5.69 a gallon for regular. for what? the highest price in the nation according to gas buddy. that means you have to fill up your rental car and you re stuck. local legislatures were so upset by the prices being so high near the airport they put legislation you have to show by the street what your prices are. all the visitors to the theme parks taking their rental cars back, let me fill up you better do it because it s going to be $8 at the rental place. that s what you call gouging. yeah.
