joining me now, live fro new york, the 42nd president of the united states, bill clinton. mr. president, welcome back to meet the press. always nice to have you. thank you, david. i want to talk about the clinton global initiative, the seventh year as it gets ready to kick off in new york, and there s really interrelationship between the big focus you have at the conference and this debate we re having in washington. first let me get your response, however, to leader mcconnell. you warn now, in this economic clime against cutting too much or raising taxes too much, either dealing with the long-term deficit or jump-starting the economy. what do you think is possible now when you hear what you just heard? well, i don t know. you know, i m notin washington and i don t have a feel for it. i will say this, if you look at the independent economic analysis of the program the president outlined, a broad range of economists say that if it s adopted, then in 2012, gdp growth will be so
