In a statement, CHO said it has also monitored 39 dengue-related hospital admissions since January. Based on the CHO data, seven barangays logged over 100 cases of dengue since January. These are barangays Sta. Maria, 138; Pasonanca, 129; Tetuan, 128; Putik, 121; San Roque, 119; Mercedes, 117); Tumaga, 110. Other barangays with a significant number of dengue cases are Calarian, 89; Divisoria, 67; Guiwan, 67; Cabatangan, 65; Boalan, 64; Tugbungan, 57; Culianan, 54; and, Talon-Talon, 51. Barangay with high dengue cases are continuously carrying out fumigation and misting, coupled with clean-up drives and search-and-destroy activities, the CHO said. ZAMBOANGA CITY - Lawmen arrested four people, including a member of a local drug syndicate, and seized some PHP1.2 million worth of illegal drugs in two anti-drug operations here, a top police official said Wednesday. Brig. Gen. Franco Simborio, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the suspect as Emma Pula, 52, a member of the Abdurajik drug syndicate. The other three suspects were Rasid Ipen, 42; Jorge Dawang, 24; and, Hermie Araneta, 36. Simborio said Pula was arrested in a buy-bust around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday in Purok 9, Barangay Sinunuc. Seized from Pula were some 50 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP340,000, a sling bag, a pouch, and 12 bills of PHP1,000 boodle money topped with a genuine PHP1,000 marked money.
