we need to be. we still need to hire more police officers. certainly it would help. we have been without that for two years. but we have deployed a number of police officers over the weekend. over the holiday weekend, and they have had help to keep down the number of shootings. sandra: we dug up some of those numbers to paint the overall picture. the first half of 2019, i should note that these numbers do not include what just happened over the fourth of july weekend. 238 murders in the city of chicago so far this year. that is down 7% from the previous year, what you just acknowledging, kevin. 980 shooting incidents. that is down double digits from the nearly 1100 last year at the same point. so, what needs to happen to bring those numbers down even more? because this was still an extremely violent weekend.
