Governor Kristi Noem didn't wait long after receiving advice from the South Dakota Supreme Court on late Friday afternoon about legislators holding contracts with state or county governments to appoint a new lawmaker.
"Protecting ag land from foreign ownership is matter of national security," bill sponsor Republican Rep. James Wangsness said. Particularly ownership based in the six banned nations, bill supporters said.
