Hundreds of protesters including martial law survivors and young people wore black clothes and held placards reading “Reject Marcos-Duterte” and “Never Again, Never Forget” as they expressed their fears that the presumptive president and vice president will replicate their fathers authoritarian regimes.
In a statement Thursday, acting environment chief Jim Sampulna said the disposal of campaign paraphernalia must be in accordance with the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
The Davao City mayor added that the country needs a “future generation of patriotic Filipinos that advocate peace and discipline in their respective communities.”
In an advisory, Año said the proper disposal of campaign materials must be in line with environmental laws, and local ordinances against illegal dumping, open burning and littering.
