As U.S. citizens continue to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in droves, a major cruise line has announced that it will set sail next month.
CNN reports that Celebrity Edge will be the first major cruise ship to sail from the United States in over a year.
The ship is part of the Celebrity Cruises line owned by Royal Caribbean Group and it will set sail from Fort Lauderdale in June 2021.

WASHINGTON (AP) The number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits dropped last week to 406,000, a new pandemic low and more evidence that the job market is strengthening as the virus wanes and economy further reopens.
Thursday’s report from the Labor Department showed that applications declined 38,000 from 444,000 a week earlier. The number of weekly applications for jobless aid a rough measure of the pace of layoffs has fallen by more than half since January.
The decline in applications reflects a swift rebound in economic growth. More Americans are venturing out to shop, travel, dine out and congregate at entertainment venues. BATON ROUGE - Though a number of COVID-19 related restrictions have eased across the state, Louisiana State University is keeping at least one restriction in place.
The university announced Thursday that its mask mandate will remain as is.

A familiar face in Hollywood is speaking out about her ordeal with COVID-19 early on in the pandemic.
Salma Hayek, the 54-year-old star of Like a Boss and Desperado, says she battled a near-fatal case of the virus that resulted in the deaths of over 500,000 people in the U.S., according to CNN.
Hayek recently spoke with reporters from entertainment magazine, Variety, saying she contracted the virus early on in the pandemic and almost ended up in the hospital.
