News agency PTI quoted an EOW official as saying, "We came here after media reports said that some people were engaged to get Rs 2,000 currency notes exchanged in the RBI counter. We verified the Aadhaar card of the people standing in the queue to exchange Rs 2000 currency notes and also asked them about their occupation."
2000 note exchange: Deadline ends in 3 days: On May 19th the Reserve Bank of India ordered the withdrawal of Rs 2000 rupee notes and asked the people to deposit the notes in the bank before September 30th.
In preparations banks will have dedicated counters for the exchange of the high denomination notes, enough inventory to offer change and people to manage queues.
