the 5th amendment if he is required to go in there, because he s going to say there is a parallel case going on for criminal sanctions and until that case is resolved i m not telling you anything because it violates my potentially violates my right against self-incrimination. so i think the likelihood that she ll get testimony is low, but the ruling says she s entitled to it. so, how do you classify this week for the former president, i mean, legally? was this, in a couple words, a bad week for him and the family? yes. he lost all of the cases that he is a party to. he lost his arguments that he s immune from prosecution, that he has a 1st amendment right, that letitia james is acting out of a political witch-hunt. all the courts said no, thank you, mr. president. those are not good arguments. you have to proceed in these cases. so in the words of the
knock on the teenager s door and talk to the parents, or they can reach out. can american authorities do that without so called probable cause? can they do a welfare check? can they knock on the door of someone when they see these types of things on social media? is that a violation of the 1st amendment? that s just it, eric. that s the biggest obstacle; right? everyone has a right to say what they want, via social media, in public, however, that s a problem a lot of law enforcement agencies are faced with. 1st amendment right, how do you know if someone is saying something, if they are going to act out on it, if they are not going to act out on it, if they are being extreme on social media, we don t know. again, it goes back to a manpower issue. how do you have that many officials looking into the posts? eric: to make a case, do you need that? do you need more information that someone is going do something? you can t yell fire in a theater
majority leader mccarthy appears live on sunday morning futures with maria bartiromo. that s tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. no doubt that everything in washington this week has been absolutely riveting, the hearings on the potential kavanaugh being confirmed to the supreme court, but you had a behind the scenes view. mike: it was intensity like i have never seen on capitol hill. i have been up there seven years. it was second to none. you had people who were really passionate about the me too movement, were worried about professor ford being treated fairly. also had people come forward and say i believe judge kavanaugh is an honorable man, i don t know what happened to professor ford, i don t believe he s being treated fairly, concerns about his wife and kids. energy running high on both sides of the issue. i have to give a shoutout to the capitol hill police. they did a phenomenal job. let people exercise their 1st amendment right, but the floor where the hearing was held was all business. yo
