Congress leader Jagdish Tytler furnished a bail bond in connection with the Pul Bangash killings during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, which was accepted by a Delhi court on Saturday. The court directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to provide a copy of the charge sheet to Tytler. The judge will hear the case on 11 August. On Friday, a sessions court granted Tytler relief on a personal bond of INR1 lakh and one surety of the like amount, imposing certain conditions on him.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vidhi Gupta Anand, who had on July 26 summoned Tytler on August 5 in connection with the case, noted that the accused has already been granted anticipatory bail by a sessions court.
The chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots revealed eyewitness accounts, who alleged Congress leader incited the mob to commit acts of violence, including killing Sikhs and looting their shops.
The statement is part of a supplementary chargesheet filed against the Congress leader which led to his appearance, for the first time, before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vidhi Gupta Anand as an accused in a case related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots
