8th District Legislators Want YOUR Opinions This Saturday
A chance for you to sound off, 8th District.
This Saturday, from 2-3:30PM, 8th District legislators Senator Sharon Brown, and House Reps Brad Klippert and Matt Boehnke will be holding a virtual town hall, and want to hear from you.

During this 90-minute virtual event, the legislators will provide an update on the 2021 legislative session and take questions from attendees.
Details are as follows:
Time: 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Location: Virtual
So far, this 2021 legislative session has been marked by a number of controversial bills that Democrats havetried to push through the legislature. They include an income tax (by way of a capital gains tax); a low carbon fuel standard which would raise gas prices astronomically; a number of energy related bills as well.

President Donald J. Trump on Wednesday afternoon became the first president in U.S. history to be impeached twice by the U.S. House of Representatives but four of Illinois’ Republican delegates weren’t on board with the move.
At least two of them the 13th District’s Rodney Davis and the 18th District’s Darin LaHood cited the good of the nation as their reason to oppose it.
vowed they are going to take up in january. deadly mass shooting in california sparking major debate. there were many democrats who said if they were to win republican held seats that they would make this a top issue. then a day after dozens of democrats who campaigned on promises to change gun law, they were elected. kim shrier, washington 8th district, one of many democrats who backed stronger gun regulations. she flipped republican controlled seats last week s midterm elections. the issue obviously will be high on the list here. the question is, are republicans going to meet democrats somewhere in the middle when it comes to gun control because republicans maintain one thing. it s not gun control, it s mental health and that is an issue that needs to be addressed. i think they both should be and can be addressed. hopefully that is what happened. i think we don t know yet what s going to happen because i m not so certain democrats have enough
