DOH logs below 300 new cases for 3rd straight day

(File photo) MANILA - The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday logged 289 new Covid-19 cases, pushing the country's total tally of infections to 2,837, 016. This is the third consecutive day the country has recorded new infections below 300. On Tuesday, the DOH recorded the lowest single-day infection in 18 months at 235. In its latest case bulletin, the agency noted the active cases declined further to 10,095 after 380 new recoveries have been reported. The country now has 2,776,425 recoveries. About 3,870 of the active cases are mild, 549 are asymptomatic, 389 are critical, 1,845 are severe, and 3,442 are moderate. "Of the 289 reported cases today, 256 or 89 percent occurred within the recent 14 days - Dec. 3 to 16, 2021. The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR with 70 or 27 percent, Region 4A (Calabarzon) with 27 or 11 percent and Region 7 with 26 or 10 percent," the DOH said.
