first off i hope biden will start being honest. we have the money to pay for medicare and social security. the interest expense of the military right now. we will collect $4 1/2 trillion this year. we have plenty of money to do those things. he just wants all this waste. democrats want all this waste. first thing we have to do is acknowledge we have to solve this problem and we have to come to the table and say there is waste, let s fix it. harris: i understand what you are saying. the waste is what eats your future. the future isn t that far off. less than ten years and even less than that for medicare. let s move to this. republican congressman tom massey called out the nation s debt. he has been seen around the capital supporting a handmade national debt clock badge. biden and the democrats are incapable incapable of telling the truth about this. they will do anything not to cut
during the pandemic. so carving off that number is not the huge achievement that it is often made out to be. plus this student loan deal negates all of the gains in the deaf sift when you look over time. all the money being spent on student loans wipes away that reduction in the deficit that you have heard so much about. they are saying we ll bring the deficit down another $1 1/2 trillion in this fiscal year. i don t see how the math adds up with what they ve spent here. at least congress has passed most of this spending and bipartisan. this was done with executive action and many people are saying it is the wrong move ahead of mid-terms. right move for biden. a move aimed at helping them in the mid-terms. whether it s a legislative move that is appropriate constitutionally is another wall they are likely to run into here. the clock ticking on the feds to submit a redacted we know
he said maybe it s a good thing. americans are so used to not working hard at full pace that a recession might shake the tree and shake them and wake them up and wake the economy back up again. but instead we have this sleepy economy prodded on by exactly the wrong economic policies. dana: to your point it s too much money chasing too few goods. one of the obama advisors steve ratner was on msnbc. it could have been worse. they wanted to pass more money and thwarted by one person. listen here. in an ironic way you have to thank joe manchin for blocking that. 6 1/2 trillion of spending in this economy would make these numbers look small. dana: they are saying thank you to joe manchin? you bag to november and december and what they were saying about manchin and how he was a traitor to the cause and feeding into the progressives line that you could print money until the end of time without
the national debt as of right now stands close to 29 1/2 trillion dollars and that figure is just climbing. already the country is paying $1 billion in interest on that debt per day. that s according to the peter g. peterson foundation. congress recently raised the debt limit by $2 1/2 trillion. lawmakers are considering spending more with president biden s 1.7 trillion dollar build back better agenda as we enter the new year. as you mentioned the congressional budget office found the version of the plan that passed the house in november would add $365 billion to the deficit through 2031. that s not including $207 billion in revenue from i.r.s. enforcement. mean whiem with the build back measure stalled some republicans are calling for more oversight demanding a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. senator lindsey graham from south carolina said it would
december, how do you do that one along with infrastructure and the $3.5 or whatever the number is on build back better? how does all this happen? yeah, you put your finger on it, bill. it doesn t make any of this easier, it makes it more difficult in a lot of ways. we know the democrats are a long way from getting their own cards in their own hands here when it comes to the $3 1/2 trillion bill let alone infrastructure, end of theier speengd. end of the year spending. they have to keep the lights on in the capitol. it moves it into a december with a real pile-up. they had a big pile-up at the end of september. the end of december it will be a real mess. thankfully i think republicans have made a smart move here in making it more difficult for them. dana: it will coincide with the fact that we re already being told to buy our christmas presents now because they won t be anything on the shelves by then.
