just sort of ran out of steam, and they basically foot dragged, and it got looted. and then it seems like there was an interesting discussion point for the courts here on the 14th amendment. the self proclaimed originalist and textualists are just trumpists. because it is very clear in both cases you cite, that section three of the 14th amendment which says that if you ve engaged in insurrection or rebellion, you can t hold office again. and here with the monuments clause, you just can t take any money from foreign governments and kings and princes without going to congress for us. it is very clear in the language itself, and when you go back to the original purposes, it is extremely clear that there was a wall of separation, that the framework wanted to create between the personal finances of the president, and the states, the government s finances. and they wanted to make sure that the president would be a loyal fiduciary, an agent of the american people, not chinese government com
