that clearly helps the republicans. to the point we were making earlier when the new votes come in, you want them to a, match or exceed your percentage already in that county if this is your county. this is a republican county. you want 60% here. and katie hobbs 34%. kari lake overperforming her current number. and then you come out to the statewide map. and you have obviously kari lake is trailing at 49.5. it s a very, very close race that lead has ropped to 20,336. a lot closer. from this. this it is right here. 2400 votes that has dropped right there. if you re kari lake, that s what you need to do. we were just talk about how the democrats were getting huge percentages, 60 plus, close to 70% in the democratic county. kari lake is doing the same thing right now in a republican county. 70% of the vote is in. there is still plenty of votes outstanding. and midwest of those votes are here in maricopa county. and as you watch maricopa, this is, again, more than 60% of the vote
questions. she s leading right now 50.5 to 49.5. close. a very close lead there with about 60% of the vote in there. again, the mail-in ballots coming in. so there are prominent members of both parties coast to coast where we re still counting votes and the balance of power hangs in the balance and the fact, again, the probability is republicans will get a small majority. the fact that it s a mathematical possibility the democrats hold on to theirs is striking given the headwinds in this election. absolutely so. all right. thank you very much to john king. so we re going to go to north las vegas in just a moment because we talk about all the different ways people vote. in nevada you ve got a lot more ballots arriving by mail. they re allowed to do so if they come by saturday. our gary tuchman is there on the ground to talk about the closest races including the one in nevada that could tip the scale of power in the senate. verizon w welcome unlimited plan for just $30 a line. a little bit, a little bit appoint higher. the democratic governor there. so let s move drop down south to racine county here. it is a competitive county. it s 49.5 to 49.2. the republican slightly ahead in the governor s race. let s flip over and look at the senate. race they have a more healthy lead for ron johnson there. so, democratic incumbent governor is performing more strongly, stronger than his lieutenant governor as who s the senate candidate here. and if you pull it, i just want to see where we are missing votes here, where the live outstanding votes are, and you still see, especially down the largest basket of o six in milwaukee suburbs, here but you see these big red dots. there are a lot of republican votes as. well so in a highly competitive, case state, ron johnson is taking a narrow lead. and if you are the johnson campaign, you see all these red dots up here, jake, you think okay we re in pretty good shape. let s keep counting. all right, john king, thanks so much
