The business reviews company’s Phoenix office will be the first to reopen in August with around 150 people, followed by London, Chicago, Hamburg, New York, Toronto and Washington, D.C. in the fall. Yelp’s November reopening in San Francisco is later than other major tech companies. Salesforce and Facebook are reopening towers this month. Google is also reopening offices this summer and plans to have all employees back around September.

The company announced in February that more than half of its workforce will continue working remotely or on a flexible schedule after the pandemic is over. It is also subleasing part of its offices at 350 Mission St., according to the San Francisco Chronicle. (SFGATE and The San Francisco Chronicle are both owned by Hearst but operate independently of one another.)

Salesforce introduced its “Work From Anywhere” strategy, estimating that more than 65% of employees will adopt the new system, based on a company survey. For those that will be coming into an office, the current spaces will be redesigned to accommodate more of a “community hub” feel, focusing on collaboration and breakout areas to foster moments of human connection.

The new Old Navy Inc. headquarters will operate out of 1 Harrison and 2 Folsom streets. The closure is yet another example of companies slimming down office footprints amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Just last week, Yelp confirmed its San Francisco headquarters at 140 New Montgomery St. were up for lease. Twitter, which operates its headquarters at 1355 Market St., listed 104,850 square feet of the attached 1 10th St. building for sublease in September 2020 and Pinterest paid $89.5 million to terminate its lease for 88 Bluxome in August 2020.
