full of smoke, fires 33 times. when the subway comes to a stop, the train stops, the doors open and he walks across the platform along with many of the other passengers trying to get away from the gunman. he joins them, goes into the subway train and goes one stop north up to 25th street and then takes the stairs and walks out. as to what happens now, he s been arrested. he s in state custody. he ll be transferred to federal custody. he ll appear before a federal magistrate judge for an initial appearance on this single count of violating a federal statute that makes it a crime to attempt to harm people or harm facilities belonging to a train system. so it s not, strictly speaking, a terrorism charge. that s in the title of the statute but not in the terrorism section of the u.s. code. there are a couple of statutes they could have looked at,
they say that at the next stop, because as soon as i got off, i got on the local train, the r train, the conductor said everybody get on the train so we can get out of here. he brought us to the next stop which is 25th street, i believe, but we stopped at 25th street and everybody got off the train because nobody was moving. it was an injured person in the front cart of the train and that s when i saw they made a system announcement at the train station that any people, doctors, nurses, if anybody can come to the front of the train to assist, that s the only time i heard people getting assistance. i tried to get out of the 36th street train station as soon as i possibly could. yav, you said that you thought that the gunshots now looking back, you thought they were some fire crackers of some sort. how many did you hear and how long can you estimate that they went on for? i couldn t even keep count.

investigation is standing right now as to where the suspect may be. subway traffic is stopped and stabilized area. the first responders are in a calm posture up here waiting at this moment. but in terms of what we can tell you about this suspect all we know or where it came from. there is even some we ve been told it started at 25th street and moved toward 36th. one witness said it was a train moving towards manhattan. there is the north and southbound trains. that s the kind of information we hope to get soon. again we have helicopters in the air, one at least probably, you know, press and nypd in the area. a cordoned off area of brooklyn. subway trains are at a stand still and know there is a suspect on the loose. that s currently the situation we have right now. harris: one more thing. i have a new list of all the nearby businesses and the
