i m standing up to extremis and my party, whereas mike lawler doing that on the flip side, i think it s really important that if we re going to ask republicans to stand up to the extremes in their party that we be willing to do that ourselves. and so i m standing on i m standing with my jewish constituents and i m fully comfortable with organizations withdrawing their support, whatever that support looked like in the first place on the theory that we have to go in a different direction at a party and we have to get extremism out in unify people moving forward. i want us get broader question about where the election is. in a minute, but i do want to ask there s a story i believe is today from city and state that said the chump patrick meloni had called you back in 2022 and offered to drop out of the 17th district race? just quickly. is that accurate? it is not true. and it s not just in my view, it s in the view of everyone who watched this go down back there, right? i mean, we also

i think so, for the people in the 17th district and appreciate the opportunity, you know, to be on. i retired from nascar racing and from fox sports in 2019 to go back home and spend more time with family and to run our family businesses. we are in convenience store, truck stop and the petroleum business as well. and when i got home, i started to pay more attention to the government and started to become more and more frustrated at how the government in my view was ignoring or leaving the south side of virginia behind. i deal not only with convenience stores and truck stops, we deliver fuel to our farmers and our loggers and to residential homes, people in middle to lower incomes and i slowly saw this group of people get crushed in this economy. and when i came to richmond to try to advocate for my area, i didn t really get the answers i wanted and kind of got the door shut in my face, so i decided this election cycle was too important to sit on the sidelines so i decided to jump in.
it seems there is very little room for compromise. maybe republicans know that investigations are where they can make the biggest dent. but where does that leave those representatives that are new to congress, who have come full of ambition and desire to make a real difference. one of them is congressman mike lawler. he is the new representative for new york s 17th district. and he spoke to me a short while ago. look, a short while ago. we have a smaller than anticipated look, we have a smaller than anticipated margin, but frankly, it forces people on both sides of the spectrum in conference to come together and focus on what we can get past as a conference. it means that we are going to have more robust debate and discussion within our conference. it means that folks like me that represent districtsjoe biden one by 18 points, 18 districts, that he won in 2020, we are going to have a say in this, and thatis are going to have a say in this, and
