ZAMBOANGA CITY - Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9) has so far recorded 46,000 recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), or a 93.34-percent recovery rate since the start of the pandemic last year. In a report Friday, the Department of Health-9 said the region has tallied a total of 49,277 cumulative cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 with 1,056 active cases and 2,221 deaths. The DOH-9 data also showed that Zamboanga City recorded the highest number of collective confirmed cases with 22,130 although it has also registered the highest recoveries with 20,826. The confirmed cases in other parts of the region include Zamboanga del Sur with 11,376; Zamboanga del Norte, 10,284; Zamboanga Sibugay, 4,117; and, Isabela City, 1,370. Following Zamboanga City in the highest recovery is Zamboanga del Sur with 10,804 recovered patients.
