evolution, the progression in terms of what the u.s. is willing to provide in terms of weapon systems, the scale of the defense support and how much that s ramped up over the course of the last 11 1/2 months. but so too has the comfort level on the u.s. side with how they re able to assess risks, how they re able to walk through what they believe a russian response will be, and how far they feel they can push things without eliciting the kind of response that would bring this into a much, much more dangerous territory. one thing i would note is a driving force behind that is lines of communication that have been opened up between officials and their counterparts over the course of the last several months. one of the lines was utilized when the u.s. officials informed the russian president the u.s. president would be making this trip several hours in advance. it was considered a deconfliction call, not some type of a diplomatic effort. they haven t categorized how the russians responded
your first shot. i think about the green bay packers. the broncos were 11 1/2 point underdogs. we understood the history of john elway. brian: who got blown out of the super bowl. it s amazing what you can accomplish when you care more about the people you are leading and serving than you care about yourself. that was the attitude our football team. we understood what was at stake for the legacy of john elway. when you can celebrate somebody else s success like it s your own. when that happens to you, it s unbelievable what we can accomplish as a group of people. brian: for whatever it s worth.
