Lauren Tam is an accountant, and she offers students two important tips:
Open a Tax Free Saving Account (TFSA)
A tax free savings account is a great way to save money that not enough students take advantage of. Investment income, including capital gains and dividends, earned in a TFSA is not taxed in most cases, even when withdrawn. This is a great way for students to save for something like a car, place to live, etc.

The Superior Court of Justice heard from a husband and wife in the trial of Lawrence Allen Thompson. The 68-year-old man is being charged in connection to the abduction and sexual assault of a girl, 4-years-old at the time, which occurred almost three years ago.
The incident took place the morning of May 13, 2018 and the accused has pleaded not guilty to all four charges in the case.
The husband and wife were on their way to church the morning of the incident. Both described a man of medium build, around 60-years of age, with grey hair carrying a young girl into a bronze Chevrolet Impala. The husband specifically mentioned the girl being forcefully put into the vehicle through the drivers side door.
