particulars, senator portman of senator mcconnell and how he orchestrated things. he took money away from new hampshire and don bolduc and took money out of the race in arizona with blake masters and actually gave money to lisa murkowski who is running against another republican, a trump-supported republican in alaska. and so is that criticism fair of the senate minority leader? no. i would say just the opposite, you know, some people say that the 100 million bucks or so on that president trump had was not used very much in terms of these races and, you know, there is a fact basis for that can you look at how much money was put in but, as an example in ohio j.d. vance was behind at some points and then he was tied. it was tight race it was senator mcconnell who stepped forward and provided 30 million bucks for ohio which is unprecedented and got him over the top even though he was former president trump s candidate in the primary not senator mcconnell s. so senator mcconnell really s
if you robbed a bank and took out 100 million bucks and they wanted it back, and you wouldn t give it back and then they legally seized it under judicially warned process, and you said hey, this is storage the bag. you had 100 million, now you have, it now i have. it it s storage. and i m saying that was with a smile because that s a silly the argument it. but the underlying point matters. it matters a lot for the nation. here we are, on labor day, talking about tradition, talking about honoring peoples work. honesty, integrity, all of that stuff. well, it s not a storage issue. it s a question of whether the citizen used their government parties still something and then held it back as a citizen. and, what it took for the government to get it back. which is distinct from the other point we have given you on the story and our coverage. which, is it is not a storage issue. but, that doesn t mean anything of what i just said must be a slam dunk indictment case. there s a lot of reasons w
how does you putting your foot down translate into getting back to school? what happens monday? well, my hope is that we are going to get a deal struck here in the next day or so that gets our kids back in school, in-person learning, and the deal covers the duration of the school year and we don t have any additional disruptions. that s what i m hoping for. chicago already spent 100 million bucks to make schools safer. what haven t you done that the teachers are asking for? what is the missing link? have they articulated it? well, i think what the issue is is that with this omicron surge they d like to see more testing and we re in the process of putting even more testing into our schools, but, stephanie, the answer to every question related to the virus and particularly the omicron variant is vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. where the teachers union could be a constructive partner with us is to go with us school by school and to educate parents
