Thursday's tally of fresh cases is higher than Wednesday's 32,246. Out of the active cases, 225,408 are mild, 2,881 are moderate, 7,332 are asymptomatic, 1,468 are severe, and 298 are critical. "Of the 34,021 reported cases today, 33,456 (98 percent) occurred within the recent 14 days - Dec. 31, 2021 to Jan. 13, 2022," the Department of Health said. The regions with the most cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 16,793 or 50 percent of new infections; Region 4-A (Calabarzon), 7,131 or 21 percent; and Central Luzon, 3,745 or 11 percent.
