Strawberries are a sign of summer, particularly in coastal Sussex County, and they’re the showcased ingredient at all 12 SoDel Concepts restaurants in May.
“There is nothing like a fresh, ripe strawberry,” said Doug Ruley, vice president of culinary operations for the Rehoboth Beach-based restaurant group. “We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the beach season than with local products from our friends at Magee Farms, Evans Farms and Fifer Orchards.”

Crowds of happy shoppers swarmed to Dagsworthy Avenue May 8 for the return of the Dewey Beach Arts and Fun Festival.
The free event, sponsored by the Dewey Business Partnership with support from the Town of Dewey Beach, featured more than 60 artist vendors along with food trucks and live music.

Jingo: the Santana tribute will perform at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 15. Jingo describes the Afro-Cuban-derived rhythms and chants that create a rhythmically sensual sound and harmony. Jingo is a seven piece Latin-rock band consisting of musicians from around the world who perform the Afro-Latin-fusion-blues-rock music of Santana.
