A Pennsylvania man was arrested after allegedly bringing a pellet gun and hatchet to Higbee Beach in Cape May County on Saturday, Lower Township police said.
Police were called to the beach around 2:24 p.m. for a report of a man with a handgun and hatchet in his waistband walking around the area, authorities said. Higbee Beach is a small stretch of beach that rests along the Delaware Bay.
The 38-year-old Levittown, Pennsylvania man was arrested at the beach entrance, police said. The hatchet and firearm, which was determined to be a pellet gun, were located in the parking lot, police said.
