HANOVER No more hustle. No more bustle. No more pancakes or eggs. The Eating Establishment in Hanover is no more.
The restaurant in the former Assinippi General Store permanently closed on Christmas Eve, in advance of its lease with the 7-Eleven corporation running out on Dec. 31.
Owner Stephen Matheny said the restaurant was just barely hanging on for the past nine months of the pandemic as the small restaurant moved to takeout only. The inside was too small to allow for indoor seating under the state s guidelines, which were recently reduced to 25 percent of usual capacity until Jan. 10, and there was no room in the parking lot for outdoor seating.
