Former rugby union hooker Gerwyn Price – the first Welshman to make the world darts championship final – and two-time champion Gary Anderson insist they will put past tensions aside when they clash for the $1 million first prize. Price lived up to his Iceman nickname as he came from 3-1 down to beat England s Stephen Bunting by six sets to four in the first PDC world championships semifinal at London’s Alexandra Palace on Saturday (Sunday NZ time).

The pair will contest the decider of the £2.5m tournament on Sunday evening, when the victor will lift the Sid Waddell Trophy and earn a £500,000 top prize. Third seed Price defeated Windle-based Stephen Bunting 6-4 in an entertaining encounter which broke the record for ton-plus checkouts in a World Championship meeting with 13 three-figure finishes, while two-time World Champion Anderson got the better of St Helens darter Dave Chisnall in nine sets.
