Poll: Is it time to retire Africa by Toto?

Photo by Rey Del Rio/Getty Images We are entering a new era of Detroit Lions football. A new quarterback, a new head coach, and a new general manager headline the 2021 season. But should that new era include the echoing drums of Toto’s “Africa”? The 1982 hit song on American rock band Toto’s fourth album, Toto IV, has been an anthem for Pride of Detroit for many years. Our usage of the song originated from a Vine of a Shiba Inu dancing it was cute and catchy, and we adopted the song. Many PODcasts have started with a remixed version of the song, a staple for our listeners. It won the 2016 Pride of Detroit Moment of the Year award as it achieved meme status in the fanbase. It headlined many Victory Mondays, although not as many as we had hoped. 2017 and 2018 were another milestone for the song. No, I am not talking about the Weezer cover.

During the pandemic with most of us stuck at home and only venturing out to the grocery store, we still have a feeling of community when you said Go Bills while passing someone in the aisle.

The clouds didn’t seem quite so gray today! Hopefully, we’ll feel the same way next Monday! I digress. Clouds will linger through the evening. There may be a few peeks of sky later tonight, but overall, we’re keeping the forecast mostly cloudy.

Podcast: Bye bye, Big Blue

Podcast: Bye bye, Big Blue Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports What’s up everyone? The boys are back in studio on the finest of Victory Mondays after the Ravens took care of business big time against the New York Giants in a 27-13 home effort that puts them in the driver’s seat for playoff positioning. That’s partially the case because of some help from the around the league that they got, with the Steelers getting it done at home over the wild card hopeful Colts, and the Browns dropping a head scratcher of an upset to the Jets in New Jersey. All that and more will be covered on today’s show, so sit back, relax, and enjoy our dulcet tones as we head into the final week of the 2020 NFL regular season. Finish!
