Candlelight vigil planned for Tuesday night in Memorial Square

The Prince Albert Grand Council plans to hold a candlelight vigil to remember the victims and survivors of residential schools in the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation and Cowessess First Nation. The vigil begins Tuesday, June 29, at 7 p.m. in Memorial Square next to City Hall. Attendees are asked to wear orange for the event, and observe COVID-19 regulations like physical distancing, masking and sanitization. All residents are invited to attend -Advertisement-

MWDOC annual Water Awareness Poster Contest submission deadline March 1, 2021

The Municipal Water District of Orange County is now accepting student entries for the 2021 Water Awareness Poster Contest! The contest is open to all Orange County children; however, only students in Kindergarten through 12 are eligible to win a Grand Prize. This year’s theme, “#SaveTogether,” challenges students to think deeply about their connection to water and illustrate the necessity of it by creating original artwork. The Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) Water Awareness Poster Contest is an annual contest presented each spring. All Orange County students in grades Kindergarten through 12 are invited to participate. The Contest’s goal is to get students thinking about our most precious natural resource – water – and how clean, fresh drinking water improves our daily lives.
