About 2 million Nigerian youths have been rendered jobless by the recent suspension of sale, registration and activation of SIM cards by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, it was learnt yesterday.
Arewa Telecom Operators Agents and SIMCard Dealers Association (ATOASDA) stated this while addressing reporters in Kaduna.
The telecom dealers, who claimed that they were aware of the Federal Government’s intention to address security challenges through linkage of National Identity Number (NIN) with mobile numbers and suspension of new SIM cards registration, expressed worry that rendering 2 million youths jobless might worsen the security challenges.

Following the recent suspension of the sale, registration and activation of SIM cards by the federal ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, not less than two million Nigerian youths have been rendered jobless.
Addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Monday, the Arewa Telecom Operators Agents and SIM card Dealers Association (ATOASDA), noted that they were aware of the Federal Government’s intention to address security challenges through linkage of National Identity Number NIN with mobile numbers and suspension of new SIM cards registration.
ATOASDA fears that rendering two million youths jobless might worsen the security challenges in the country.

BARVIDA donates ambulance to PMâs humanitarian programme

DHAKA, Dec 22, 2020 (BSS) â Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (BARVIDA) has donated an ambulance to the Prime Ministerâs humanitarian programme.
BARVIDA leaders handed over the ambulance to Prime Ministerâs Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus at a function at the Prime Ministerâs Office (PMO) here today, said a BARVIDA press release.
BARVIDA President Abdul Haque, Secretary General Mohammed Shahidul Islam, Vice-President Md Saiful Islam (Somrat) and Treasurer Mohammad Anisur Rahman were present at the function.
As per the Prime Ministerâs directive, the ambulance was, later, allocated to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and Hospital while director of the hospital Professor Dr Mir Jamal Uddin received the ambulance at the same function, the release said.
