Columbia Association Releases FY 2022 Budget Plan, Ceasing operations of Haven on the Lake, Invites Public to Virtual Town Hall

Columbia Association (CA) has released its draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 budget. Once approved by the CA Board of Directors (Board), the FY 2022 spending plan will cover the 12-month period from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022. Over the next several weeks, the Board will discuss and receive input from the public on the draft FY 2022 budget. The Board is scheduled to vote on a final version of the FY 2022 budget in late February. The following is a comprehensive overview of the FY 2022 draft with feedback from CA’s team. Veteran, spy, public servant: Armand Weiss of McLean dies at 89

From covert intelligence operations and governmental logistics work to authoring and editing publications and serving myriad organizations, McLean resident Armand Weiss accomplished much in his nearly 90-year-long life. Weiss, 89, who died Nov. 27 at his home after several health setbacks, was a “truly amazing, unique individual and he will be sorely missed,” said Supervisor John Foust (D-Dranesville) during the Board of Supervisors’ Dec. 1 meeting. “He was very active in the community and was a great citizen and a good friend to us all,” said Robert Jackson, president of the McLean Citizens Association, for which Weiss at one time served as second vice president.
