FALMOUTH An interfaith memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 27 on the Falmouth Public Library lawn in tribute to those lost to COVID-19.
The service “reflects the reality that we’re moving through and beyond the worst of the pandemic,” said Rabbi Elias Lieberman of the Falmouth Jewish Congregation in an announcement of the event. “In our desire to return to as much normalcy as possible, it’s easy to forget where we’ve been.”
The memorial service will be structured in three parts, Lieberman said. The first part will focus on memory, remembering those lost to COVID-19 and the suffering we all endured, he said. The second will focus on gratitude for frontline workers and for the contributions of science and medicine, and the third part will focus on hope for what lies ahead, Lieberman said.
